What it is for

The page has two parts. Stock valuation is the statement of closing stock at a date, to keep with the annual accounts and to pass to your accountant. Stock count is for when you count goods on the shelves: enter the quantities and Nanus corrects the stock.

Stock valuation

  1. Open Inventory → More → Inventory.
  2. In At date choose the date, for example 31 December.
  3. With several warehouses choose All warehouses or one.
  4. In Valuation price choose how to value the stock; with Price list price also choose the Price list.
  5. If needed, open Filters and options to narrow down or sort the statement.
  6. Read the Stock value, the number of items in stock and the Total quantity.
  7. Tap Download PDF (to keep with the accounts) or Download CSV (for your accountant).

For the annual accounts use Weighted average cost (the default): the average cost of receipts and, where missing, the last purchase cost.

Valuation price

  • Weighted average cost: the average cost of receipts up to the date.
  • Last purchase cost: the item’s purchase price; where missing, the average cost of receipts is used and the PDF marks the row with an asterisk.
  • Selling price: the item’s selling price, excluding VAT. It tells what the goods are worth at full price, not for the annual accounts.
  • Price list price: the price in the chosen Price list, after its discounts, excluding VAT.

Filters and options

  • Category and Subcategory: only the items in that category.
  • Item: a single item, with all its variants and lots.
  • Usual supplier: only the items you usually buy from that supplier (the default supplier in the item record).
  • Sort by: Category and code (with subtotals per category), Code, Description or Value, highest first.
  • Include zero stock: also lists stock-tracked items with no stock at the date.

The PDF and the CSV follow the same filters; the PDF lists them at the top, with the valuation price used.

Physical stock count

  1. Set At date: the count is recorded on that date.
  2. With several warehouses choose the one you are counting.
  3. Find items with Search item; next to each you see the quantity In stock.
  4. Type the counted quantities in the Counted column, even for just some items.
  5. Tap Record followed by the number of counts.

Nanus records a stock count adjustment only where the counted quantity differs and tells you how many it recorded; if everything matches it replies “No differences: stock was already correct.”.

What is included in the count

  • Active stock-tracked items, with one row per variant and per lot present.
  • Not serial-tracked items: correct them with a movement listing the serial numbers.
  • Quantities must be non-negative numbers.

To count by scanning barcodes use the Warehouse terminal in Stock count mode.

Frequently asked questions

Can I count the warehouse over several days?

Yes: each time record only the items you counted. The others stay as they are.

Can I see stock at a past date?

Yes: the valuation is calculated for any date, adding up movements up to that day.
