Warehouse terminal: check goods with a barcode reader

What it is for

The terminal turns a smartphone, or a computer with a reader, into a warehouse tool: scan the codes of the goods that arrived and Nanus compares them with the purchase order, or scan the goods you count for stocktaking. On confirmation it records the goods receipt or the adjustments.

Start a check

1. Open Inventory → More → Warehouse terminal.
2. In New check choose Receipt from order (then the Purchase order among those waiting for goods), Receipt without order (then the Supplier) or Stock count.
3. With several warehouses choose the warehouse.
4. Tap Start checking.

From a purchase order you can also start with More → Check with the reader. Unconfirmed checks stay in Checks in progress and can be resumed, even from another device.

Scan the codes

• The Scan the code field accepts the EAN, the item code or the supplier’s code. A USB or Bluetooth reader types the code and sends it on its own.
• On a smartphone Camera reads codes with the camera, if the browser supports it.
• Each scan adds one piece, with a beep and a vibration; More → Turn sound off silences it.
• On the lines correct with One less and One more, type the quantity or Remove the line.
• Unknown codes go to Unrecognised codes, where you can Ignore them.
• For a product with variants scanned with its base code, Nanus asks Which variant?.
• For a batch-tracked product the first scan asks for Batch and Expiry (Continue); later scans go into the same batch until you tap Change batch. For a serial-tracked product, scan the serial number after the product.

At the top the summary shows how many lines are complete, to complete, in excess or not ordered; each line has the status Missing, Complete, Excess, Not ordered or Counted.

Confirm

1. Tap Confirm.
2. For a receipt enter the Supplier’s delivery note no. (required), check Date and warehouse, add Notes and tap Record the receipt: stock is loaded, the order marks what was received and anything missing stays outstanding.
3. For a count tap Record the count: an adjustment is recorded only for scanned items whose quantity differs from stock.

More → Discard the check deletes the scanned quantities and cannot be undone. A confirmed check cannot be reopened: start a new one for the remaining goods.

What Nanus checks

• It blocks confirmation if nothing was counted, if a batch-tracked item has no batch or if serial numbers are missing.
• It warns about unrecognised codes, quantities above what was ordered, items not in the order (they go on a separate line) and incomplete lines (a partial receipt).
