Multiple warehouses and stock transfers

How to add warehouses, shops or vans, see each one’s stock and move goods from one warehouse to another.

What it is for

The Main warehouse always exists. If goods sit in several places (a second warehouse, a shop, a van, stock on consignment with third parties) add a warehouse for each: Nanus keeps the stock of each one.

Add a warehouse

  1. Open Inventory and, at the bottom, the Warehouses section.
  2. Enter Code (letters, digits, hyphen or underscore; cannot be changed later), Description and, optionally, Address.
  3. Tap Add warehouse.

To change name or address tap the warehouse in the list, edit and tap Save. Delete removes a warehouse without movements; the main one cannot be deleted.

What changes with several warehouses

  • In Inventory the Warehouse filter (All warehouses or one) and a warehouse column appear.
  • Movements, invoices, delivery notes, purchases, counter sales, deliveries and the terminal ask which warehouse the goods leave or enter.
  • The Transfer button appears.
  • Stock count, movement printouts and labels can be done for a single warehouse.

Transfer goods

  1. In Inventory tap Transfer.
  2. Choose the Product and, if any, the Variant.
  3. Choose From warehouse and To warehouse.
  4. For a lot-tracked product pick the Lot among those present; for a serial-tracked one enter the Serial numbers.
  5. Enter Quantity and Date and tap Transfer.

The transfer records a Transfer out and a Transfer in. Goods come in at the average cost they had in the source warehouse, so the total stock value does not change.

Each device’s warehouse

If the shop computer always takes goods from the shop warehouse, choose it in Warehouse of this device in the Warehouses section. Nanus suggests it in movements, delivery notes and the counter used from that computer or phone; you can always choose another one.

The choice applies only to the device where you make it, like the language: the others keep suggesting the Main warehouse or the one chosen on them.

What Nanus checks

  • The warehouse must exist.
  • The destination must differ from the source.
  • The quantity must be greater than zero.
  • A warehouse with movements cannot be deleted.

Frequently asked questions

I cannot see the Transfer button: why?

It only appears when there is at least one warehouse besides the main one.

Can I see the value of a single warehouse?

Yes: on the stock count and valuation page (More → Inventory) choose the warehouse and the date.
