What it is for

A gift box, a set or an assembled product is sold as a single item, but in stock it is its components that go down. In the kit you list which products make it up and how many are needed for one kit.

How to do it

  1. Create or open the product that acts as the kit (type Goods) and open the Kit (bundle) section.
  2. In the Product field search the first component by code or description and pick it.
  3. Enter the Quantity per kit.
  4. Repeat for the other components; Remove takes one out.
  5. Tap Save.

What happens

  • On invoices, delivery notes and counter sales the line shows the kit, but stock is taken from the components: kit quantity times component quantity.
  • A kit can contain other kits: it is broken down to the final components.
  • Customer orders with a kit commit its components in the availability figures.
  • A product used as a component cannot be deleted while it is in a kit.

Only components with Track inventory ticked move: a service component, or one whose stock is not tracked, stays in the kit but generates no movements.

Returns and credit notes

  • With a Credit note that takes the goods back, the kit components come back into stock as Customer return.
  • With a counter return the components go back to the same warehouse; for lot-tracked products they go back into the lots they left with the sale.

What Nanus checks

  • Each component quantity must be greater than zero.
  • A kit cannot contain itself, directly or through another kit.

Frequently asked questions
