Import a supplier price list

How to load a supplier’s CSV or Excel price list to update codes and purchase prices on your products, with a preview before saving.

Where to find it
Products → More → Supplier price list

Open in Nanus

What it is for

A supplier price list brings the supplier’s codes and purchase prices into Nanus in one go. They land in the Suppliers section of each product and are used wherever you buy from them: the price proposed on orders and requests for quotation, reorders rounded to the pack size and product recognition on their e-invoices.

How to do it

  1. Open Products → More → Supplier price list, or from the supplier record in Customers & suppliers → More → Supplier price list (the supplier is already selected).
  2. Choose the Supplier, then in Choose the file the price list as CSV or Excel .xlsx.
  3. Nanus recognises the columns by name and lists them under Recognised columns; below you see the counts and one row per entry with price before → after and Result.
  4. If you like, tick Create the items not found (with code and description) and, for these, Track stock for new items.
  5. Tap Save … items. At the end the message tells you how many products were updated.

File columns

You need at least one column with a code and one with the price. The others are optional:

  • Supplier's code (also headed code, item code, SKU, part number), Our code, Barcode (EAN, GTIN).
  • Description, Price (excluding VAT), Discounts written as 10+5.
  • Unit, Pack size (pieces per pack or minimum order), VAT, Notes.

How products are recognised

  • First by the supplier’s code, then by your code, finally by barcode.
  • Updated: the product already had that supplier and the price changes.
  • Matched: the product was found and receives that supplier’s data for the first time.
  • New: it will be created, if you chose to create missing items.
  • Not found and Error: rows that change nothing, for example without a code or with an invalid price.

Common problems

  • The price list needs a column with a code and one with the price: rename the file’s first row with recognisable names.
  • The old Excel .xls format cannot be read: save the file as .xlsx or CSV.
  • With a new price, that supplier’s previous discounts no longer apply, unless you include them in the discounts column.

Frequently asked questions

Does the price list change the selling price?

No: it only updates that supplier’s purchase data on the product. Selling prices are handled by price lists and price changes.

Is a special permission needed?
