Reorder products below minimum stock
How Nanus works out which products to reorder from stock, committed and incoming quantities, and creates one order for each preferred supplier.
- Where to find it
- Purchases → Orders → More → Reorder below minimum stock
What it is for
Reordering saves you from checking stock product by product: Nanus proposes what is running out, grouped by supplier, and creates the orders with one tap. The number of products below minimum stock also appears in To do on the Home.
Before you start
- In the product record enter the Minimum stock.
- In the product’s Suppliers section add the supplier with their code, Purchase price and Pack size / minimum, and tick Preferred: that is who the reorder goes to. Without a preferred one, the product’s first supplier is used.
How to do it
- Open Purchases → Orders → More → Reorder below minimum stock (you also find it in Inventory).
- For each supplier you see the products to order, with Stock, Committed, Incoming, Available, Minimum stock, the To order quantity and the price.
- Tap Create the order (or Create … orders if there are several suppliers): one order is created per supplier, with the supplier’s codes and prices or, if missing, the latest cost.
- Open the orders created, adjust quantities or lines if needed and send them to the supplier.
How it is calculated
Availability = stock − committed (goods promised to customers in orders not yet delivered) + incoming (already ordered from suppliers, not yet arrived). Each product whose availability is below the minimum stock is proposed so as to bring it back to twice the minimum, rounded up to the supplier’s pack size.
- No preferred supplier: products below minimum that have no supplier; set the supplier on the product or order them by hand.
- At the minimum, to be assessed: products whose availability is exactly the minimum stock. They are not included in the orders; if you expect more sales, add them by hand.
Special cases
- Quantities are not changed on the reorder page but in the orders created, which stay editable until the goods arrive.
- Orders already placed and not yet arrived count as incoming: running the reorder again does not order the same thing twice.
- You need permission to write in purchases.
Frequently asked questions
Why doesn’t a low-stock product appear?
It is probably already incoming from a purchase order that brings availability above the minimum, or it has no minimum stock set.
Can I reorder a fixed quantity?
The reorder always brings stock to twice the minimum, rounded to the pack size; for different quantities adjust the order created.
