Plans, free trial and subscription

Nanus plans, the documents included, the free trial, how to pay by card or bank transfer and how to activate the desktop app licence.

The plans

Plans differ in the documents included each year and in the number of people who can work in the company (owner included). Documents are invoices, notes and self-invoices issued with Nanus and supplier invoices received as XML files; quotes, orders and delivery notes do not count, and neither do invoices imported from other software.

  • Free: desktop app only, 100 documents a year, 1 person.
  • Essential: 200 documents, 1 person.
  • Pro: 1,000 documents, 2 people.
  • Business: 2,500 documents, 5 people.

Essential, Pro and Business are yearly subscriptions, per company, used in the cloud; with a licence key they also apply in the desktop app. Current prices are on the Pricing page of nanus.it.

The free trial

If you create your account from the Pricing page, you try the chosen plan for 30 days, with no credit card, issuing up to 50 documents. The Subscription page shows You are trying Nanus … for free with the days left, and Free trial: … days left appears at the top of the pages. When the trial ends your data can still be viewed: choose a plan to keep working.

Choose and pay for a plan

  1. Open Settings → Subscription (only the owner sees it). Before paying, check Company details: the plan invoice is addressed to them.
  2. Under Choose your plan select Essential, Pro or Business.
  3. Choose how to pay: Card, SEPA or PayPal (Stripe’s secure page, automatic yearly renewal) or Bank transfer.
  4. Check Email for receipts and notices and enter a Recipient code or PEC (certified email) to receive the e-invoice. If you have a discount code, enter it in Discount code (optional).
  5. Tick the declaration (of age, buying for your business) and tap Pay … + VAT, or Get the bank transfer details.

With a bank transfer Nanus immediately shows Beneficiary, IBAN, Amount, Payment reference and Pay by, with the Copy, Download the PDF and Cancel the order buttons, and also emails them to you. Copy the payment reference exactly: the plan is activated when the transfer arrives, usually within 1-2 business days.

Your plan

  • Your plan shows the plan, its status (Free trial, Active, Awaiting payment, Renewal failed, Cancelled, Expired), the renewal or end date and the payment method.
  • The documents bar shows how many you have used in the period. From 80% a notice appears: nothing is blocked and, if you pay online, you can add a pack of 500 documents or move up a plan.
  • Payment method and cancellation opens Stripe’s area to change card or cancel: a cancelled plan stays active until it expires.
  • With automatic renewal, Switch to … changes plan on the same subscription. With a bank transfer, the same or a lower plan renews for a year from the expiry date; a higher plan only costs the difference until the expiry date.
  • Payments and invoices lists payments with the e-invoice number (Being prepared until it is issued).

Without an active plan you can view your data but not change it. After the expiry date the plan stays usable for 7 more days, to give you time to renew.

Desktop app licence

  1. In the cloud, with an active plan, open Subscription → Desktop app licence and tap Generate key.
  2. In the desktop app open Settings → Subscription, paste the key into Licence key and tap Activate licence.

The licence removes the Free plan limit until your plan expires and works offline too. The page shows Licensed to and Valid until; Remove licence removes it. On Free, once you reach 100 documents Nanus gives you 5 more, then no more documents can be issued without a paid plan; those already issued can still be viewed and printed.

What Nanus checks

  • To buy, you need the company’s VAT number and, for a sole trader or professional, the owner’s tax code (codice fiscale), which must show they are of age.
  • Without a recipient code or PEC, the plan invoice will only be in your tax drawer (cassetto fiscale).
  • The discount code must be valid and not expired; it applies to the first year.
  • The licence key must be copied in full and must not have expired.

Frequently asked questions

If I go over my plan’s documents, does Nanus stop working?

No, on paid plans you only get a notice. The only block is on the desktop app’s Free plan, after the 5 free extra documents.

Who can see and pay for the subscription?

Only the company owner. Others get the message when the plan is not active and they try to save.
