Payment terms (30/60/90 days, end of month, RiBa)
How to create payment terms with instalments, end of month, fixed day and skipped months, from which Nanus calculates invoice due dates.
- Where to find it
- Settings → Payments and numbering → Payment terms
What it is for
Payment terms (for example “Bank transfer 30-60 days EOM”) say how and when the customer pays. From them Nanus calculates the instalments in the invoice payment details, the items in the payment schedule and the RiBa (Italian bank receipts) to present to the bank. With several instalments the invoice states payment in instalments (TP01), with one the full payment (TP02).
How to create them
- Open Settings → Payments and numbering and the Payment terms section.
- Tap New payment terms.
- Fill in Code and Description and choose the Method (bank transfer, RiBa, SEPA Direct Debit…).
- In Instalment days enter one number per instalment, comma separated:
0on sight,30, 60, 90for three instalments. - Set the other options if needed and check the example calculated below the form.
- Tap Save.
If you are starting from scratch, Add the … most common conditions creates in one go the common terms you do not have yet: direct remittance, cash, cheque, card, bank transfers on receipt, at 30 days and at 30/60/90 days end of month, RiBa at 30/60/90 days end of month and SEPA direct debit at 30 days end of month.
The options
- Due at end of month: each instalment moves to the last day of the month (EOM); with Days after end of month you get, for example, “EOM + 10”.
- Fixed day: each due date moves to the next day with that number after the calculated date (for example always the 10th).
- Months without due dates: tap the months to skip, usually August and December; an instalment falling there moves to the following month, on the day set in Move to day of following month (10 unless you change it).
- All VAT in the first instalment: with several instalments, the whole VAT goes on the first one, as is common with RiBa.
- Collection charges: an amount excluding VAT added automatically to new documents with these terms, for example RiBa charges; with For each instalment it is multiplied by the number of instalments.
The calculation order is: days from the document date, then end of month and days after it, then fixed day, then skipped months. Rounding cents end up on the last instalment, so the sum always matches the total.
Where they are used
- In the customer’s record, Commercial terms section, Payment terms field.
- In Settings → Company details → Payments received, Default payment terms field.
- In the invoice, Payment and notes section, Payment field: if left empty, the customer’s terms are used, then the company’s.
What Nanus checks
- Instalment days must be written from nearest to farthest, without repeats.
- The code is unique and cannot be changed after saving.
- Terms assigned to customers cannot be deleted: remove them from their records first.
