Use Nanus on a smartphone or tablet

Nanus in your phone’s browser: the bottom bar, the Create button, the More panel, how to choose its items and how to add Nanus to your home screen.

What it is for

Nanus is designed for the smartphone first: every feature works in the browser of your phone or tablet, with the same data as on your computer, with nothing to install. Just sign in with your cloud account.

The bottom bar

On a smartphone the section column is replaced by a bar at the bottom, always within reach of your thumb:

  • Three sections of your choice: at first Home, Documents and Contacts.
  • The Create button (the + in the middle) lists, from any screen, what your role can create: for example invoice, quote, order, delivery note, contact, product, stock movement or purchase invoice.
  • More opens All features, in groups: Sales, Purchases, Contacts and inventory, Accounting and General. General also holds Settings, Help, Open XML invoice, Guided tour and Support and feedback; at the bottom are the version number and the theme button.

The search bar moves to its own row under the header. Next to the ? help button there is the support button, with a red dot when the team has replied to you. Settings opens first as a list, then on the chosen category.

Choosing the bar items

  1. Open More → Settings → Language and appearance.
  2. In the Phone bottom bar section choose a section for Slot 1, Slot 2 and Slot 3. If you pick a section that is already in another slot, the two swap places.
  3. Below you see a preview of the bar. To go back to the original choice tap Restore the default items.

Create and More always stay in place; Settings and Help are under More. The choice applies to that device.

Open Nanus like an app

  1. Open Nanus in your phone’s browser and sign in.
  2. From the browser menu choose Add to Home screen (on iPhone and iPad, in Safari, it is in the Share menu).
  3. From your phone’s home screen Nanus opens full screen, like an app.

Tablet and camera

  • On a tablet the left column narrows to icons with a short name, leaving more room for tables and forms.
  • In the Warehouse terminal and in the order taken from a customer you can read barcodes with the phone camera, where the browser allows it.
  • The Guided tour adapts: on a smartphone it also presents Create and All features.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an app from the stores?

No: Nanus works in your phone’s browser and can be added to the home screen.

Do I see the same data on my phone as on my computer?

Yes, if you use the cloud. The desktop app only sees the same data if it is connected to your cloud account.
